CHRIS MALGRAIN

Chris Malgrain is a French comic book writer and artist whose passion for storytelling began in early childhood. Growing up in France, he was already creating comics in school notebooks and imagining them as published works. At age nine he discovered Marvel superheroes, Spider-Man, Silver Surfer, and Nova, which solidified his ambition to work in comics professionally in American comic books.

He studied English at university, worked as a teacher, and continued drawing comics while pursuing opportunities in comics. He first broke into professional comics in France through licensed and adaptation work, which led to major milestones such as Stan Lee’s Alexa, fulfilling his long-standing goal of working in American comics and collaborating with established creators. His work reflects strong influences from figures such as Stan Lee and John Byrne, whose storytelling helped shape his creative direction.

Malgrain later expanded into independent publishing and creator-owned projects, working with Organic Comix and developing his own publishing venture, Oniric Comics. He is also known for his involvement with Simon Comics, which reflects his dedication to classic-style superhero storytelling. Across his career, he has focused on reviving the sense of wonder, optimism, and inspiration that first drew him to comics, building stories designed to entertain and uplift readers.

At G-Man Comics, Chris will be providing a cover for Simon N. Kirby: The Agent #14
