Ray MacKay is a Canadian comic book and prose writer from British Columbia whose work spans independent publishing, comics history, podcasting, and editorial work. He has built a growing résumé across the independent comics field.

Ray’s stories have appeared in publications from Big Bang Comics, 10 Ton Press, Standard Comics, Alpha Red Comics, Oniric Comics, Grok Comics, and Eyrie Magazine. At Big Bang Comics, he has written and co-written stories for the retro-superhero anthology Big Bang Adventures, collaborating with creators including Gary Carlson and Ron Charles Williams and working with characters such as Knight Watchman, Venus, and Megaton.

Ray is also one of the hosts of Fantastic Comic Fan, where he interviews comic book creators and explores comics history, independent publishing, and the medium’s past and present. His work as an interviewer has brought him into conversation with creators from across the comics industry.

At G-Man Comics, Ray serves as an Associate Editor and is part of the company’s editorial team alongside Chris Squires and Martin Boruta. He contributes to character development, story concepts, continuity, world-building, and the continuing development of the G-Man Universe. Ray is also one of the six creators represented as “The Creators” within G-Man continuity, alongside Rik Offenberger, Eric N. Bennett, Gilbert Monsanto, Chris Squires, and Martin Boruta.

In 2026, Ray represented G-Man Comics as a panelist at San Diego Comic-Con’s The Mighty Crusaders panel and hosted a Fantastic Comic Fan interview with the G-Man Comics team celebrating the publication of the company’s 100th comic.
