HISTORY
Jonathan Battle was one of the youngest intelligence officers in U.S. history. Injured in the final days of World War I, he refused to retire. Instead, he dedicated his life to ensuring that the Great War would truly be “the war to end all wars.” After years of private study and government-backed experimentation, he developed the Luceflyer, a personal aerial propulsion system. He used it to become Captain Battle, an airborne avenger striking against tyranny and injustice.
During the rise of fascism in Europe, Captain Battle operated behind enemy lines, leading daring raids, conducting solo rescue operations, and dismantling experimental super-weapons. His sidekicks—young warriors Hale, Kane, and his son, Captain Battle Jr.—joined him in global missions to disrupt Axis-aligned operations. Though aging, Battle remains a legend of the Golden Age and is rumored to advise covert global peacekeeping operations still. After the war, Jonathan was accidentally teleported to the 21st Century. In the 21st Century, he joined the Federal Bureau of Investigation and was assigned to Peaksville, MO.
POWERS & ABILITIES
Captain Battle possesses no superhuman powers, but his peak physical conditioning, unshakable will, and brilliant tactical mind make him one of the most formidable non-powered heroes of his era.
He is a master strategist, fluent in several languages, and a combat-tested expert in espionage, hand-to-hand combat, and guerrilla warfare. His inventions—often well ahead of their time—include the Luceflyer (jetpack), Curvoscope (vision beyond walls), and anti-fascist tech weapons like the Electro-Shock Gauntlets.
Captain Battle also served as an instructor to multiple Allied operatives during and after WWII, pioneering techniques in asymmetric warfare and resistance organizing.
