MARGEAUX PEPOY


With over 30 years in the comics industry, Margeaux Pepoy has worked for U.S., Canadian, British, and French publishers on hundreds of comics, contributing to characters and titles such as The Simpsons, Fables, Batman, the X-Men, Iron Man, Star Wars, Godzilla, Transformers, Wallace & Gromit, Scooby-Doo, Betty & Veronica, Lanfeust, Uncle Scrooge, and many more.
In 2000, Margeaux was asked to redesign Little Orphan Annie and draw the newspaper strip for the following year. In 2005, they brought their signature blend of retro glamour and modern style to writing and illustrating a revival of the classic Archie Comics character Katy Keene. Since 1990, they have written and drawn numerous stories featuring their Harvey Award–nominated creation, The Adventures of Simone & Ajax, which has been collected in book form by IDW, with a new series currently in production.
A multiple award nominee, Margeaux won the Eisner Award in 2009 and has also received an Inkwell Award, along with nominations for the Harvey and Hugo Awards.
They live in Chicago. Their recent work includes inking Batman and Zatanna for DC Comics; drawing a Dinosaucers miniseries for Lion Forge; inking the 50th anniversary graphic novel adaptation of The Beatles’ Yellow Submarine for Titan; inking various Simpsons comics for Bongo Comics; creating art for MAD Magazine; serving as a guest artist on the Dick Tracy newspaper strip; drawing and inking Die Kitty Die for Astrocomics; and producing covers for Doctor Who, Archie vs. Predator II, Red Sonja, Lady Death, and other titles.

Other interests: New Wave and punk music; 1920s–1950s swing and jazz; old radio and television shows and films; pulp fiction; and, as they joke, hoping to get outside once in a while.
