HISTORY
In the arid scrublands of northern Mexico, ranchers have long whispered of a winged predator that hunts beneath moonless skies, large, powerfully built, leathery-winged, and disturbingly intelligent. It is known by the same fearful name spoken for decades: El Chupacabra.
Modern documented sightings began in the Sonoran borderlands, where federal paranormal task forces classified the entity as a confirmed cryptid threat. The creature strikes with surgical precision, targeting livestock and, in rare cases, isolated human travelers. When it feeds, victims are reduced to clean, stripped bones, as though the flesh had been chemically dissolved or drained within moments. Forensic investigations reveal no conventional predator trauma, only deep puncture wounds and skeletal remains devoid of tissue.
Standing upright with a broad chest, corded musculature, elongated fangs, and taloned hands built for gripping and tearing, the Chupacabra presents a formidable silhouette. Crimson, bat-like wings extend from its back, allowing it to glide silently between rocky cliffs and suburban rooftops.
The first confirmed U.S. incident occurred outside San Diego near the Otay foothills. Ranch livestock were discovered reduced to bone, and security footage captured a massive shadow descending from above moments before system failure. Within weeks, similar attacks spread along the border corridor.
Now classified as a cross-border apex predator, the Chupacabra has proven highly territorial, exceptionally adaptive, and fully capable of operating in both remote wilderness and densely populated urban environments. Whether it represents an undiscovered species or a severe genetic aberration remains under active investigation. More troubling are persistent conspiracy claims alleging the creature is the byproduct of classified genetic experimentation conducted by Dr. Stephen Rottman of Rothländer Industries under covert CIA authorization, an accusation both the corporation and federal agencies categorically deny.
What is certain: it is real. And it has learned that cities provide easier prey.
POWERS/ABILITIES
The Chupacabra stands approximately 7–8 feet tall when fully upright, with a wingspan exceeding 14 feet. Its dense musculature indicates explosive strength well beyond human capacity.
Its leathery wings enable near-silent gliding and short bursts of powered flight. It favors elevated ambush positions, cliffs, rooftops, and water towers, striking from above with calculated precision.
Elongated fangs are specialized for deep puncture feeding. Victims exhibit rapid blood loss, suggesting the presence of a powerful anticoagulant enzyme in its saliva that prevents clotting and accelerates death.
Clawed hands and feet allow it to scale vertical surfaces and maintain a crushing grip on prey. Talons are capable of penetrating livestock bone and reinforced fencing.
Demonstrating notable intelligence, the Chupacabra exhibits advanced tracking behavior and problem-solving cognition comparable to higher primates.
Its most terrifying attribute is behavioral discipline: it does not frenzy. It hunts deliberately. Efficiently. Selectively.
