HISTORY
Agent Squires is a longtime FBI agent and currently serves as an FBI security agent. In the course of his duties, there are times when Agent Squires needs caped agents, and he will occasionally work with the G-Men. He is responsible for high-value security for the FBI, including diplomats and heads of state. Agent Squires and Agent Kirby have a close personal friendship that began before Agent Kirby joined the Caped Agent Program. During a mission with Kid Terror, Agent Squires discovered a prototype Murder Hornet uniform. Unable to resist, Agent Squires tried on the uniform and had a single adventure as the superhero known as Gray Hornet. Henry Rothländer discovered that Agent Squires had tried on the uniform and offered it to him, but Agent Squires was concerned that the price asked in return would be too high.
POWERS & ABILITIES
Gray Hornet does not have any metahuman abilities. He is highly trained in multiple martial arts and hand-to-hand combat styles, with fighting skills equivalent to those of a mid-level MMA fighter.
Gray Hornet is fluent in English and Spanish. He also speaks some Russian and German, although not fluently. He speaks both with a strong American accent but can understand what is said to him.
An accomplished logistics specialist, Gray Hornet assesses tactical situations and deploys equipment and personnel as needed. He is also highly proficient at designing operations and is a recognized expert in analysis, able to run possible scenarios based on available information and quickly identify the most probable one.
Gray Hornet is an expert in interrogation, knowing how to gather intelligence from even small bits of information. Over time, he has developed an uncanny ability to tell the difference between truth and bullshit, no matter how convincingly a lie is told.
WEAPONS & PARAPHERNALIA
Gray Hornet’s uniform includes a pair of insect-like wings that allow him to fly. These wings are powerful enough to carry up to 300 pounds. In addition to the wings, Gray Hornet carries a “Stinger” dagger. Its blade is 3/8″ thick and 6 7/8″ long, made of cast stainless steel with a black oxide coating and satin-finish highlights. The handle scales are securely attached to the full tang with heavy-duty screws. The 11 5/8″ fixed-blade knife slides securely into an injection-molded Vortec and nylon belt sheath with a snap-closure strap. The sheath sits on his upper leg so the dagger’s hilt is at hand height when his arms are at his sides, allowing for a quick draw. A leg strap keeps the dagger in place as Gray Hornet runs.
