Comments: Judaism and Chanukah do have a rich history. In ancient Greece, the Jews had to fight for their religion. Many died as well. The Jews led by Judah fought hard for their faith.
G-D is used in place of God. It is not explained why.
The art is excellent. The ancient Greeks and Jews of the time are drawn just how you would expect them to be. The period clothes look authentic. Judah, he is a leader. He is drawn with purpose.
As you read about the history of Judaism you will realize how much it means to those who practice it. You will learn as well the basics behind this religion. Here in this book, you see people fighting for the freedom to express themselves in their ways. This story should and will inspire others to stand up for their beliefs.
The comic does get heavily into religion yet it does not preach and it is still entertaining presenting how Judah came to be and the reasons behind him being who he is.
