INDIE COMICS ROUNDUP! NOVEMBER 2020!

Simon N. Kirby and G-Man Comics:  Yet more independent books that I backed on Kickstarter!  “Simon N. Kirby: the Agent” is the flagship title of  Rik Offenberger’s  “G-Man Comics” imprint.  There’s a deep love of the pre-Archie MLJ Comics heroes on display here, and I can think of no better person to shepherd the spirit of those characters forward into modern times than Mr. Offenberger.  The issues of Simon N. Kirby (I dig that name so much) are excellent on their own, featuring great, classically-styled superhero art by Gilbert Monsanto and Alan Faria, but that’s not all that G-Man Comics has to offer!  What you see up above, for example, is the cover to just issue #1 of “The Shield G-Man Club Fanzine,” a publication which has come out several more times since, and is an absolutely packed resource for anyone with any interest at all in the classic MLJ Comics heroes.  Really, this is one of the best fanzines I’ve ever encountered, no doubt.  Then, G-Man also offers something very much up my alley:  a handbook! “Who’s Who – The Official Handbook of the G-Man Universe” not only decides to just use both titles of the two different handbook series that we’re all thinking of, but it is filled with excellently written and illustrated entries for fascinating characters that really help build a sense of what G-Man Comics is building here.  If you like classic superhero action, well, Rick Offenberger and the gang are DELIVERING.  Check them out here: G-Man Comics Facebook page and here: G-Man Comics Homepage!
