HISTORY
Aleksandr Chernov was once a brilliant and ruthless military commander during the waning years of the Russian Empire. Obsessed with the idea that Slavic nations could only survive through absolute strength and domination, Chernov sought forbidden knowledge beyond conventional warfare. His search led him to an ancient pre-Christian Slavic entity known only as The Black Winter, a godlike force embodying conquest, night, and unending cold.
Through a blood-binding ritual performed during a total lunar eclipse, Chernov was reborn as Czar Nocturn, an immortal dark sovereign empowered by shadow and cosmic winter. Declaring himself the rightful ruler of all Slavic peoples, Nocturn waged occult wars across Eastern Europe before vanishing during the chaos of World War II. Presumed destroyed by combined Allied mystic forces.
In the modern era, Czar Nocturn has resurfaced, drawn to Canada’s northern territories where ancient ley lines converge. Viewing Kaptain Polska as a false symbol of Slavic strength, one who protects rather than conquers. Nocturn has made it his mission to shatter the hero’s legacy and replace it with an empire ruled by fear and obedience.
