HISTORY

Jake Claymore was a U.S. Marine serving with Rob McFarlane and Sam Williams. At the end of the war in Afghanistan, both Rob and Sam had rotated stateside, while Jake stayed until the last American unit left. When Afghan interpreters and their families had trouble reaching the evacuation points, Jake took a group of Marines back into Afghanistan to rescue them. However, they failed to return to the extraction point before the final flight out. He watched as the U.S. Air Force C-17 departed at 11:59 p.m. Kabul time on August 30. Jake was trapped in Afghanistan. His interpreter was captured and beheaded, and the interpreter’s family was killed.

While Jake eventually made it out of Afghanistan, he resented being left behind. He decided the U.S. government no longer deserved his support and declared a personal war on it. To support himself and his new mission, he became a soldier of fortune, fighting foreign wars to fund his battle against America.

POWERS & ABILITIES

Jake Claymore allowed himself to be genetically modified during one of his missions abroad. He can now explode, spreading shrapnel in all directions. The explosion takes a personal toll on Jake’s body and health, so he must use his newfound powers sparingly.
