In 1964, Steve Perrin and Ronn Foss created the first black costumed superhero, The Black Phantom, in the pages of Mask and Cape #4. The Black Phantom predates the well-known Black Panther by two years. Hugo Award winner JOHN JENNINGS, a professor of Media and Cultural Studies at the University of California, Riverside, worked with Steve Perrin on a revival of The Black Phantom just prior to Steve’s death. Here for the first time, G-Man Comics will present this historic work, in one comic!
Jennings has worked with Steve Perrin’s widow and the children of the late Ronn Foss to bring us this piece of comic history! This is a historic original black & white edition for fans who want to see this comic as it was originally presented in Mask and Cape.
G-Man Comics will make no profits from these comics, all proceeds will go to John Jennings for his upcoming all-new Black Phantom #1. Jennings will also donate a portion of the proceeds to black charities in the name of creators Steve Perrin & Ronn Foss at the request of the family.
