HISTORY

Dr. Stephen Rottman and his assistant, Ariel Roswell, were working late at Rothländer Industries when a bolt of lightning crashed through a window and struck Dr. Rottman. The lightning strike bathed both men in toxic chemicals. As a result, Dr. Rottman was transformed into a living human skeleton, while Ariel was left comatose. Dr. Rottman spent months in the hospital recovering from his injuries but never regained his human appearance.

After his release from the hospital, Dr. Rottman abducted Ariel and took him back to his laboratory, determined to save his friend. Rottman succeeded in reviving Ariel, but only after making certain “improvements.” Rottman later returned to work as chief medical officer at Rothländer Industries with his assistant and friend, Ariel. When called upon, Doctor Rottman and Ariel-51 serve the Aryan Alliance’s scientific needs as a team known as the American Nightmares.
