Chris Squires is a lifelong comics fan, veteran radio broadcaster, professional wrestling referee, and managing editor of G-Man Comics. His broadcasting career spans more than 50 years and included serving as program director at KCBQ in San Diego. It was at KCBQ that the nickname “Agent Squires” was born after a station engineer saw Chris dressed in a suit, white shirt, red tie, and sunglasses for an event and remarked that he looked like a Secret Service agent. Chris adopted Agent Squires as an on-air name, and the identity later inspired his fictional counterpart in the G-Man Universe.

Chris is a longtime collector and historian of the MLJ, Red Circle, and Archie Adventure Series superheroes. His collection still includes comics he purchased for a dime or 12 cents when he was 10 years old. His interest in the characters has also extended to comic book history writing, including material about The Fly/Flyman and the Mighty Crusaders.

Chris’s association with Rik Offenberger goes back more than 20 years. During Rik’s years at Archie Comics, Chris served as a proofreader, and when G-Man Comics was launched, Chris was part of the team from the beginning. As managing editor, he works with the creative team on characters, concepts, storylines, continuity, world-building, proofreading, and the overall development of the G-Man Universe.

Chris has also become part of that universe himself as FBI Agent Squires, liaison between the FBI and the Caped Agent Program. The character has appeared throughout G-Man Comics and expanded from his original supporting role into the time-traveling Space Cowboy, riding his mechanical horse, The American Nightmare.
